Martin Capital Advisors stands ready and willing to answer any questions you may have regarding our firm and/or investment philosophy.
What is a fiduciary duty?
A fiduciary duty is the highest standard of care. A firm that has a fiduciary duty is required to put their clients’ interests first, and the client is typically referred to as the beneficiary. Under a fiduciary duty, fiduciaries are required to put the interests of the beneficiaries above their own interests.
Why should I invest with Martin Capital Advisors?
We have a proven long-term track record that has placed us at or near the top of all financial investment managers for long-term returns.
How long has Martin Capital Advisors been in business?
Paul Martin, the managing partner, and chief investment officer founded Martin Capital Advisors in 1989.
What's the secret to Martin Capital's success? What's the strategy?
We utilize a performance-weighted strategy that focuses on investing in quality growth stocks and letting our winning stocks run. We use leverage and options to take advantage of extreme market conditions. However, we’re not aggressive short-term market timers.
I hear a lot about tax efficient investing, what is it, and are your portfolios tax efficient?
Tax efficiency is expressed as a percentage. It measures the fraction of overall investment gains retained after income taxes are paid. Typically, a 39.1% marginal tax rate is used as a standard benchmark. We manage our portfolios with the objective of total performance. Our low turnover investment strategy reduces the frequency of taxable events, making our tax efficiency higher than most actively and passively managed equity portfolios.
Martin Capital has a high percentage of tech stocks, isn't that risky?
We have a high exposure to the technology sector because we believe that is where the strongest growth will occur. With the United States leading the world in technological advancements, along with an ever-increasing global economy, we remain committed to the strongest companies within this sector.
I like your investing style, but I would like to take a less aggressive approach. Can you assist me?
Yes, we have a number of different portfolio styles that we offer. Our Balanced Portfolios and Conservative Portfolios are two options that are available with substantial fixed-income components that reduce the volatility of the equity portions of the portfolios. Find detailed information about each of our portfolios here.
